• FRACS 1983,

• 4 year research in Edinburgh and Aberdeen Scotland leading to MD. Awarded AM (Order of Australia) 2003.

Specialty

• Obesity surgery- now carried out over 1000 Lap Bands
• General Surgery- I am a General Surgeon with additional special interests in Breast and Endocrine (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pancreatic endocrine), but carry out a full range of general surgery.

Other interests:

Trauma surgery - I am a senior instructor for the RACS Emergency Management of Severe Trauma Course, I am on the Medical team at the Australia Formula 1 Grand Prix, have an interest in 4WD (own a Hummer)
and Track racing (own a 1974 De Tomaso Pantera, son is a Formula Ford
racing driver), and writing (My wife is Melanie Milburne, a famous Romance Writer for Mills and Boon, and I write the Medical Scenes for her Medical Romances). My other son is a computer special effects artist and gamemaker.
